Jim and Jim joined me for fine day dodging the thunderstorms on Friday,,,,,,Jim Sr. was celebrating his 90th birthday party and landed a nice brown on a dry-------I hope to be casting as good as he is @ 90 years old,,,,,

6-17-09 Fishing Report

I promise to quit posting steelhead,,,,but June16th a spring fish that's crazy,,,,,,,I think Christina was a bit surprised when that "log" she hooked started moving,,,,,steelhead eating streamers is a bunch of fun,,,,we had a great trout day but they were mostly those cookie cutter 8" browns,,,but on a dry fly or a soft hackle that's still a bunch of fun,,,,,streamers were actually slow except for Bessy there...........I still have Sat. and Sunday open for some real real prime time hatch fishing on the p.m.............

Well hatch season is here,,,,,and those pesky steelhead are still around just feeding a bit differently,,,,like on the surface!!!!


I had my Sat, Sun cancel if anyone is interested the next three weeks are the best time to be out after dark........

Baldwin Area Fishing Report 6-6-09

Monday June 1st lead me and Dr. Bell on a late night hatch haunt where we only could get browns to really go on emergers,,even after a huge hatch,,,the cold nights have been hampering dry fly activity. ........The next day we went way up north to try one more hand at steel and Dr. Bell cashed on a couple butes,,,and lost a really huge chrome hen......The next day Wednesday Dr. Bell and I went to the mighty mo. to feel out the gray drake hatch down there,,,,it went very nicely and although we never cashed in on any of the big fish that were feeding very late we had a blast. ........Thursday left me with good ole Roger and we had a ball working some tough fish during a decent hatch of gray drakes on the p.m.......Ole Rog cashed in Big on great brown and bow on a fur ball,,,,,Kind of surprising in this cool weather........Yesterday Lynn, Joe and I tried the new boat out on the P.M. and although we didn't get good bugs we cashed in on some great fish,,,,,,Lynn lost my biggest brown in a couple years,,,,,,Great Job both of you,,,,,,,,Well the weather seems to not be friendly today so I will keep you posted on what's happening,,,,,We have a few open dates next week give us a call

6-1-09 Fishing Report

This weekend the Hendrickson's were popping,,,,,The Barkman Boys Sr. and Jr. put a whipping on them Sat. night. We have some more rain as of right know so the streamer fishing is still steady. Look for a long drawn out June of mayfly fishing!!!!! Big Dave did a good job on that big brown with a 7' 3 weight,,,,got to love a little challenge
