There are a lot of steelhead around and the Pere Marquette is fishing better than ever. Fish numbers and size of fish are very large this year. Fall steelhead are running very large this year!

The steelhead fishing has been incredible! We are seeing November numbers in October! The fish are running a lot larger than usual this year. If there ever was a year to chase chrome this is the year! There are also a good number of cohos in the river and the brown trout bite is picking up on egg and nymph patters. The fishing is still great for kings, and with more steelhead showing up daily its only going to get better. There are still a lot of fresh fish in pools and the spawning fish are at peak. This means lots of egg munching steelhead should be on the feed. If you have never been out for fall steelhead or fall salmon, you need to give it a try lots of fun and a beautiful scenery. Also gourmet lunch served river side. If you have kids they are never too young I love to take kids fishing. They are the future generation of our sport. I have a few open dates this week and also lots of prime steelhead dates in October and November so call today to get out on the water in search of chrome. -Steve Cornetet

I've been on both the pm and the big manistee this week, both are fishing very well. The big river has kings, kings, and more kings, from top to bottom, from side to side, its stuffed! There are also great steelhead numbers and it continues to grow. The pm salmon run is at peak spawning right now with steelhead numbers growing daily. Look to dark pockets behind spawning kings for browns and steelhead. Still a few prime October and a November dates available.
